The 0411 PCM has a much faster processor than the Black Box PCM and has dual timing tables. There is also more support from the tuning software companies for the 0411. EFILive and HPTuners both offer "Custom Operating Systems" for the 0411 to support boost and or nitrous. The swap can be completed in about 2 1/2 hrs and is fairly easy to do.

Feb 14, 2024 · When the 0411 first came back from Black Bear, there was only 22 deg at wot. Cruise timing was way low too, mid 20's rather than mid 30's. I sent it back with the data logs and asked for more timing. They did add cruise timing, but wot is still 22.0. For the record there is no trace of knock.

A couple folks on here have done the 0411 swap. Perhaps they would give you a 98 ecu? Personally if I had one I’d give it to ya for shipping cost. The 0411 swap is worthwhile. My big question is; everyone says the have been getting their info/pcm for doing the swap from "Lextech." I personally run a 0411 pcm in my 97 Silverado. I run the 0411 in a 96 GMC K1500 as well.
