I've been reloading light 20 loads for my LC Smith 20 where I need to stay under 8500 psi. I want to stick with Remington Game Load hulls as I have a couple hundred of them and they reload exceptionally well for me. To date I've only used the following recipe 7/8 oz Rem. I shoot 20 gauge at everything. The problem I ran into with the new AA hulls is they are to shallow for that wad and 1 ounce of shot. I had to go the Remington SP20 to get it all to fit. That is using 16.5 grs of Longshot for 1165 my 1 ounce Trap Load. STS hull and W-209, 17.0 grs, Longshot, (Hodgdon lists from 16.3 to 18.0 using the WAA20F1), and 1 oz. #7-1/2 shot. Had to use a little bit of wad pressure, but it then fit and crimped very nicely. I recommend a Mylar Wrap with all steel loads using this wad... Your hunch is correct, they are not the same. The SP20 is 1.540" long with a shot cup depth of 1.050" = 1 oz. The "S" designation was added later when they stitched the petals together. The RXP 20 is 1.585" long with a shot cup depth of .890" = 7/8 oz.
