Easily my favorite spot outside the northern highlands. Near the Hand of the Maker is really good for single player. If you're concerned about resource spread, most of the North has high amounts of iron and coal. Directly east of the mounds of the dead has a great deal of resources and the Wights for gossamer. Best part is, you can get there quite easily (some spiders, like 3 or 4 over the whole trip, but getting a bow first is an option and then that's really no issue) very early on. I forewent building an initial base and just survived a bit until I had a stone sword and shield, then went for it, and succeeded.Best Base Locations by Resources - TOP 7 - Conan Exiles. So many of these places are lacking wood... by far the best place is teliths island imo. tons of rock, trees, and iron right beside you, between you and new asgarth is a ton of elk king for food. pop down an elevator on the rock face going into the desert and you are like 1-2 minutes away ...Both offer great access to thralls, iron, coal and adventure spots. I prefer the I5 location for access to the jungle, start collecting gold and silver. Your next move is going to be around level 30, after you get the 4-slot wheel. You'll want to set up a permanent base out by Klael's Fortress, or near the southern entrance to Sepermaru.
