The HP22A is a great value for the price, but its not in the same class with the Ruger. I expect that the Ruger will last for tens of thousands of rounds of all kinds. The HP22A will serve you well if you limit the high velocity ammo, but its probably not a 10K round pistol. In my experience the HP22A pistol is a nice little pistol to carry on walks and for dispatching small animals. It's also a fun little plinking pistol. In my experience it is just as accurate as a Browning Buckmark or a Ruger 22/45 but is much more compact and less expensive.
